The University of Florida invites applications for two tenure-track positions: (1) Assistant or Associate Professor positions in Educational Administration/Leadership; and (2) Higher Education Administration and Policy.
For the Educational Administration/Leadership position, we seek candidates with scholarly interests focused on issues of critical national and international importance, which may include educational policy, equity and diversity, school reform, school improvement, and school leadership. The ideal candidate will have evidence of excellent research skills, a focused research agenda, and either strong quantitative or qualitative research skills. Relevant experience in P-12 schools is desirable. For the Higher Education Administration and Policy position, we seek candidates with scholarly interests focused on critical issues in higher education, including but not limited to the following areas: access and equity in higher education; student persistence, completion, and transfer; organization, leadership, and governance issues in higher education; community colleges; diversity in higher education; and additional research areas of direct relevance to higher education administrators and policymakers. Regardless of area of study, we seek a scholar who can advance knowledge in the field of higher education in ways that can improve the practices and policies affecting colleges and universities. We encourage scholars with strong methodological training in qualitative or quantitative methods to apply for this position.
For both positions, the successful applicant for the tenure-track position is expected to maintain a clear, systematic line of research; regularly seek external research funding; publish in scholarly journals; present research findings at meetings of professional associations; contribute to advising and teaching, especially recruiting and mentoring doctoral students. Additionally, candidates will engage in service to the program, school, college, university, and profession. This 9-month tenure-accruing faculty appointment will begin August 2019 and include the possibility of summer employment. Salary is negotiable, competitive, and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Conduct scholarly activities commensurate with expectations of a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor at a research-intensive university
- Publish in respected refereed scholarly journals
- Vigorously pursue external funding
- Advise, engage, and mentor graduate students in teaching, research, and outreach activities
- Teach (face-to-face, blended, and/or online) courses
- Participate in program development
- Provide service to the program, school, college, university, and the profession
